Ilona Chudner has been associated with the Poly library since 2004. She started in a parent volunteer capacity on a weekly basis. In 2013, she officially joined the library staff. She holds a master’s in chemistry, and that helped her to learn book conservation and restoration techniques—she even prepares her own glue! There are many tasks to perform in the library: cataloging, book covering, shelving, book recommendations for patrons, collection development. Ilona performs all of the above tasks and more. Lots of books have gone through her hands over the years, and at this point she is able to tell if the library holds a certain book without looking it up in the catalog. In her spare time, Ilona enjoys international travel, knitting, movies, and, of course, reading books.
